Chief Executive Officer
Gautam is a former Director of Development at Asia Risk Centre where he led the development of multi-peril, multi-line (crop, livestock, and forestry) models for India and China and tools for weather and yield-based parametric insurance pricing. With over 30 years in the software industry and 20 years in the catastrophe risk management industry, Gautam has held senior management positions in leading technology companies in the United States, and India.
Starting in the mid-1990s, he has developed the world’s leading catastrophe risk management tools, including RiskLink and RiskBrowser at RMS (Moody’s), and Touchstone at AIR Worldwide (Verisk). Gautam has also managed the development of multiple products for a Fortune 500 company where he was responsible for the successful transition of product lines across international borders.
Gautam holds a Bachelor's in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Rajasthan and a diploma in Systems Design from NIIT.
Chief Technology Officer
Alpana worked for over 20 years at RMS ending as Director of Analytics & Exposure Management. At RMS she managed and participated in hands-on development of many widely used catastrophe risk models including Australia cyclone, Florida Hurricane, Hawaii Hurricane, UK River Flood, China Cyclone, and European Windstorm. Alpana was part of the team interacting with the Florida Hurricane Commission for the certification of RMS’s Florida hurricane model. She also headed the model support team to help insurers derive maximum value from RMS products. She has developed a parametric livestock insurance scheme in collaboration with the World Bank and the Government of Mongolia. In 2001, Alpana worked with the World Bank to develop multi-peril disaster insurance schemes for four states in India.
Alpana has a Bachelor and a Master’s degree in Mathematical Statistics from Delhi University.
Chief Science Officer
Kunal is a natural catastrophe modeler with over 15 years of experience, including 12 years as Lead Modeler at RMS. He is experienced in the mathematical modelling of hazards caused by extreme weather events, building vulnerability, and the valuation of assets. The models he has helped develop include China Cyclone, Europe River Flood, India Flood, Brazil Flood, and China Earthquake. Kunal has recently concluded a project for climate modelling as part of the State Action Plan for the state government of Jharkhand, India. In addition, he has delivered multiple projects using statistical machine learning, image analysis, and GIS.
Kunal has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering and a post-graduate diploma in applied statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute.
